Silicon-carbon alloy is a special alloy material for converter smelting with silicon (50%-70%) and carbon (10%-30%) as the main components, containing trace elements such as aluminum, calcium, and iron. The material is prepared by electric furnace smelting process, with high strength, high toughness and excellent thermal stability (melting point 1680 °C), mainly used in converter smelting deoxidation alloying process, and can replace traditional ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and carburizers 。
In the steelmaking process, silicon-carbon alloy can be used as a composite deoxidizer to quickly deoxidize, collect slag, and improve the quality of molten steel. Its carbon element can weaken the impact of manganese on carbon and help low-carbon steel production. In practical application, the cost per ton of steel can be reduced by 15%-20%, and the amount of alloy added can be reduced by 20%-30%. The products support customized production, and the supply capacity is up to 100 tons/month
